'Cosmic' cupcakes

So today marks the first real 'holiday' since Uni started (reading week, actually), and i decided to bake some cupcakes to commemorate it!

 Colourful cupcake batter!
I got lazy this time round so I used 3 colours instead of 7 (rainbow).

This is how the mini cupcakes look like before they are popped into the oven.
Bright little gloops and lumps!

Tada!
Reminds me so much of the cosmic effect we see these days on every teenage's threads.
I'm also planning to get some edible glitter for the next batch.
Can you imagine the extra oomph?!

Sitting happily on the cooling rack.
I also made a plain batch for the mother because she loathes any form of colouring.

Topping them up with blue icing that was way too sweet, even for me.

The finishing touches with chocolate sprinkles. hundreds and thousands, and of course, hearts!

Have a great reading week, GSA kids, and all the best for the 2nd assignment!

ps, does anyone have any good icing recipe? Please share!
The one i made was way too stiff and sweet.
